Wedding Band Somerset - South Wales' Brotherhood

Wedding band Somerset - The Brotherhood travel from South Wales to Somerset weddings at Ston Easton Park, Maunsel House, Pennard House, Orchardleigh and venues across the county.

Wedding Band Somerset - From South Wales Across the Severn

Somerset stretches south of Bristol and Bath, with the wedding-venue cluster running across the Mendips, into the levels, and out to the southern country-house belt around Yeovil. From our South Wales base it’s the same drive as Bristol - down the M4 and over the Severn - then south on the M5 for the deeper Somerset venues.

Somerset wedding venues

The venues above are the Somerset rooms we’d recommend for live entertainment. The county runs across several quite different venue types:

  • Country-house estates: Ston Easton, Brympton, Orchardleigh, Pennard. Period rooms with the proportions Georgian and Victorian architects designed for entertainment - they suit a full band properly without needing artificial volume.
  • Manor-house and authentic-historic venues: Maunsel House and similar. Real history, real character, often with the same access constraints listed buildings always bring.
  • Converted-mill and contemporary venues: Haselbury Mill, Hestercombe Gardens. Less formal evenings, suit smaller or acoustic lineups as well as the full band.

How a Brotherhood wedding day works

Our usual wedding shape: a chilled first set of around 30 minutes with the first dance and any other formal dances landed inside it, then two 50-minute dancefloor sets blended together in our own style. DJ playlists run in the gaps and after we finish. Ceremony and drinks-reception music handled by our acoustic line-ups if you want full-day coverage.

We bring our own PA and lighting and run in-ears, no floor wedges. The 5-piece Brotherhood (vocals, guitar, bass, drums, keys) is the workhorse lineup for most Somerset venues; 6-piece adds sax; 8-piece+ with brass works in the larger State Rooms and country-house ballrooms.

Travel from South Wales

From our South Wales base, the closest Somerset venues are around an hour over the Severn; the deeper Somerset venues south of Bristol add another half-hour. We travel for the day. Somerset weddings often pair with our wider Bath and Bristol catchment - and venues just the other side of Bristol like Tortworth Court in South Gloucestershire fall on the same South West circuit.

Recommended Wedding Venues

We've performed at many beautiful venues in the area. Here are some of our favourites:

Ston Easton Park

A magnificent Palladian mansion set in parkland designed by Humphry Repton. The State Rooms offer exceptional proportions for live music, with acoustics that suit a full band perfectly. The combination of grandeur and warmth makes this one of Somerset's finest wedding venues.

Maunsel House

A 13th-century manor house with a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere. The Great Hall has real character - exposed beams, stone walls, and a sense of history that creates a special backdrop for celebrations. The team embrace the house-party feel that makes weddings here so memorable.

Pennard House

An elegant Georgian house on the edge of the Mendips with stunning views. The venue has been lovingly restored with weddings in mind, offering beautiful spaces that work well for live entertainment. The Coach House provides an excellent space for evening celebrations.

The Guildhall, Bath

Though technically in Bath, this stunning Georgian venue serves couples from across Somerset. The Banqueting Room is magnificent - one of the finest civic rooms in England. The acoustics are exceptional for live music.

Brympton House

One of England's finest manor houses, lived in by the same family for generations. The house has an authenticity that sets it apart from commercial venues. The Priest House and gardens provide magical settings throughout the day and into the evening.

Orchardleigh Estate

A Victorian mansion on a private island, reached by a bridge through parkland. The setting is extraordinary, and the Ballroom offers excellent space for a full band. The estate's scale allows for grand celebrations with real wow factor.

Hestercombe Gardens

Famous for its gardens designed by Lutyens and Jekyll, Hestercombe offers distinctive character. The Barn provides a contemporary space for receptions, while the historic house and gardens create memorable backdrops throughout the day.

Haselbury Mill

A converted watermill with cascading waterfall and riverside setting. The Mill Room offers an intimate space with real character, while the larger Millhouse can accommodate bigger celebrations. A romantic, slightly bohemian choice.
