The Christmas Song

Recorded in December 2019, and it does a specific job for us every year from late November onwards.

Christmas party season is a big part of our calendar and the first hour of those nights is nearly always the same shape - guests arriving, drinks, a room slowly filling while people find their tables. A stripped-back jazz arrangement of something everyone knows is close to perfect for it. Warm, unobtrusive, and it tells people what kind of evening they are in for.

The trap with festive material is doing too much of it. Four or five well-chosen Christmas songs across a reception is plenty; a full set of them wears thin by nine o’clock, and the dancefloor sets later should mostly be the normal set with a couple of seasonal additions.

We play Christmas events across South Wales and further afield every December, from hotel ballrooms to office parties.
