New Year’s Eve, and footage of The Sisterhood doing the hardest night in the calendar.
NYE is not like other bookings. The set has to be built backwards from midnight, which means knowing exactly how long everything runs and being willing to cut a song on the spot if the countdown is drifting. Get it wrong and you are either standing there in silence or playing over the bells.
It is also a long night with a crowd that arrives already in the mood, which is a gift and a problem in equal measure. The energy is there from the first song, so pacing matters more than usual - go too hard at ten o’clock and there is nothing left for one in the morning.
We take a limited number of New Year’s Eve bookings each year across both bands and they tend to go a long way in advance.
