Motown does a particular job in a function set. It is the safest bet in the room for a mixed-age crowd, because everyone from about twenty-five upwards knows it without having to think, and the tempo sits in the range where people who have not danced in a year will still get up. Signed, Sealed, Delivered is near the top of that list. We have opened dance sets with it more times than anything else.
The version here is short, and the clip is only a minute and a half, so treat it as evidence rather than a performance. What it does show is a room already up before the song is halfway through, which is the only measure that matters at that stage of a night.
