Just Got Paid is a Friday night song and it does not really have a slow version in it. Playing it unplugged meant working out what actually drives it once you take away the production, and the answer turned out to be the vocal rhythm and a lot of handclaps. Everything else is decoration.
Tay has sung with both The Brotherhood and The Sisterhood for years and this sits right in her range - it needs someone who can push without shouting, and keep it up for the whole song rather than saving it for the last chorus.
It is a reliable late-set number for us. Weddings, birthdays, corporate nights, it does the same job at all of them, which is not true of much.
