Bristol Harbour Hotel sits on Corn Street in the city centre - a flat-floor function space with the kind of no-fuss setup that suits a self-contained band. We load in through the main entrance, navigate around to the room, and the space takes what we bring with it. The Brotherhood have played Christmas corporate events here on the floor with our own PA and lighting, running in-ears for a tight stage footprint.
A city-centre hotel on Corn Street
Bristol Harbour Hotel is a central location for Bristol corporates - Corn Street puts it minutes from Temple Meads, the business quarter, and the quays. The function room is a flat floor with decent ceiling height, which gives load-in flexibility and lets you configure the space for your event shape - reception drinks, dinner with a stage, or straight to a dancefloor depending on the brief. Room capacity typically runs 150 seated, up to 200 standing for a drinks reception or party.
Bringing your own kit
The room has no house PA, so we arrive with our own system - mixer, speakers, and lighting rig - and handle both the front-of-house mix and our in-ears from the same console. It is straightforward: load through the main entrance, a bit of navigation around the corner (stairs up into the space, so plan vehicle parking accordingly), and you are set up on the floor with full command of the night’s sound and lighting.
The space has adequate power distribution for a self-contained rig. No complications, no waiting for a house tech to free up - just a team that knows what it is doing and moves quickly in and out.
Flat floor, flexible event shapes
A flat floor means you are not stuck in one layout - round tables for dinner, then out to the floor for dancing, or a reception that flows into performance without furniture moves. Brotherhood lineups scale from a 6-piece for an intimate Christmas dinner to an 8 or 9-piece if you want more colour and presence in the room. The city-centre location and self-contained sound setup make this a practical choice for companies running corporate events on tight schedules.
The evening shape
Bristol corporate events follow the familiar pattern: arrival drinks, dinner with any speeches or awards, then the band. We play two roughly hour-long sets blended together in our own style, loaded with material that works a mixed crowd - corporates and partners, a spread of ages and tastes. The flat floor lets us push the evening hard or hold back depending on the room’s mood. Load-in and soundcheck happen before guests arrive; we aim for a clean arrival for the client.
The Brotherhood are South Wales’ premier corporate band, based in Newport and playing corporate events across the Bristol and Southwest circuit regularly. Over the Severn Bridge from home.
