Tuesday was an awards dinner in the main hall at ICC Wales. One part of the hall was the client’s exhibition, the other was set out for conference talks.
We set up on the conference stage and soundchecked while the ICC team turned the room around for the evening dinner, then ran the awards through with the compere before the doors opened.
Seventeen categories, a different sting for each, no vocals. For the ceremony we set up on one side of the stage, clear of the displays and the screens so the award photos had the middle of it. Drums, bass, keys and the two guitars in that much space was cosy.
Awards finished at eleven. The full eight-piece spread out across the stage and played through to ten to one with the floor full.
