A 50th birthday on 29 August, in a large marquee at the bottom of a garden in East Tytherley, the Hampshire side of Salisbury. There was a proper stage built into the marquee, and we went out as a seven-piece with sax and keys.
Wilds Events managed the day and Berro Kitchen did the food - beef slow cooked on wood smokers for five hours and served rare, with side platters alongside it. Both were outstanding. The band got fed too, lasagne in meat and veggie, and it was as good as it looked out front.
Food and speeches ran later than expected. Rather than the two 50-minute sets we would normally play, we ran one long set with no break and finished on the disco. That is the usual fix when the running order slips - one set instead of two keeps people on the floor rather than sending them back to their tables halfway through.
We are a Newport-based South Wales party band and the seven-piece with sax and keys is one of the Brotherhood lineups we take out for milestone birthdays.
The Brotherhood play weddings, corporate events and birthday parties across the M4 corridor and beyond. Get in touch to check your date.
