The marquee at Fforest Farm fills differently when you’ve got an 11-piece band and a room that’s been building energy all day. By the time we hit the stage, the guests know how to party - daytime activities, a few hours to reset, then evening entertainment.
This is a client we work with twice a year - once at DEPOT Cardiff for urban warehouse energy, once out here at Fforest for the rural setup. We wrote about the DEPOT warehouse party too - same people, completely different spaces. Fforest is part of our Pembrokeshire and West Wales reach, occasional gigs but worth the drive for all-day corporate celebrations. The Fforest night brings out a different energy. More space, different acoustics, countryside around you. It changes what an 11-piece band can do.
July 18th: a corporate group who come alive after hours. The full show - keys, horns, three-part vocals, the lot - was right. The space needed weight, the room energy needed matching. Marquee acoustics are forgiving if you’ve got the numbers.
The D&B system at Fforest is solid and the crew know the room. Load-in clean, soundcheck on time, evening service dialed in. Two sets back-to-back, dancefloor packed, the kind of night where the room pushes back at you. That’s the signal.
The rural setting reads completely different from city venues. Marquee open to the night, landscape around you, whole farm as backdrop. Not a ballroom. The clients booking here know that. They’re not after formality - they want to move, and the full show delivers that.
By the end of the night, people were knackered and grinning. That’s the gig.
