If 2021 was about getting back on our feet, 2022 has been about running flat out. This has been comfortably our busiest wedding season.
The Post-COVID Boom
Two years of postponed weddings all landing at once. We’ve seen back-to-back weekends from April through September, sometimes with Thursday, Friday and Sunday weddings squeezed in alongside the Saturday. Tuesday weddings are a new one though! It’s been intense, and couples who have waited two years for the date bring something to a room that a normal season doesn’t.
Venue Highlights
We’ve been all over the place this year. Cripps Barn in the Cotswolds has been a new favourite - rustic, atmospheric, and the crowd always goes off. We’ve been back to Ashton Court Mansion in Bristol a few times, which has the height a full band wants. And Ston Easton Park near Bath had a dance floor that filled before we’d finished the first song.
The Setlist
Post-lockdown couples want a party. We’re seeing fewer slow-build setlists and more “hit the ground running” requests. Opening with something like Shut Up and Dance or Mr Brightside and keeping the tempo high all night.
