We took the Brotherhood showband to Cardiff City Hall for the annual Welsh Care Awards. It is a gala dinner that celebrates the people who dedicate their lives to residential care and hospice services across Wales - and they deserved a proper party.
The Event
The ceremony itself was hosted by Welsh tenor Wynne Evans, and the evening honoured care workers from across the country. Once the awards had been presented and the formalities wrapped, it was our turn.
Filling the Dance Floor
We brought the full showband - four vocalists, brass section, the lot - and the dance floor was packed from the first number. A room that has sat through a formal ceremony all evening tends to go harder than a room that has not.
Back for More
We must have done something right - we were invited back to perform at the 2019 Care Forum Wales event too. Gala dinners suit the full showband - the production is usually already good, and a room the size of Cardiff City Hall gives eleven people somewhere to stand.
If you’re planning a corporate awards night or gala dinner in Cardiff and want a band that’ll get the room on its feet, get in touch.
